IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Purchases can be made through the website this gives you the most options of how you would like to pay. Once your order has come through we will quickly set up a butchering date for your lamb(s). Once we have a confirmation and know what day your lamb will be ready for pickup we will email you the details and we can setup a pickup time that works for you.
We currently offer two difference lines of lamb, grass fed and grain fed.
We have a group of sheep which are strictly grass fed. The majority of the grasses we feed are "cover crop" grasses which are grown after a non-GMO wheat crop. We have tried many difference species of grasses and forages over the years but typically we grow and feed forage oats, sorghum and Japanese millet. The grass fed lambs are also fed the same forages as their mothers. What forage they eat will depend on their life stage and if they should be eating for protein or energy.
Our other group of sheep is grain fed. This group of sheep is more performance focused but was chosen due to their lack of performance on a forage only diet.
The mother sheep are still fed a majority forage diet but will receive grain corn and soybean meal during high nutritional demand times like providing milk for their lambs. The grain fed lambs are fed a majority grain diet consisting of grain corn, dry distillers grain, oats as well as forages like alfalfa.
At Merkley Lamb Co we strive to bring you the best products possible, however, if there is ever an issue please document your issue and contact us immediately. We check all of our packaging prior to going out to ensure our products being delivered are in good condition but if you find an issue we would be happy to resolve this with you.
